Welcome to Weston

Stonewall is a mini-mountain town located at 7,830 feet in southern Colorado and is 30 miles west of Trinidad on Highway 12, the Scenic Highway of Legends.  Weston borders Stonewall to the west with the Purgatoire River running through it.  It is surrounded by mountains and known for excellent elk hunting.  Monument Lake is a high altitude lanke in Colorado's Sangre de Cristo Mountains and is known for fishing and the Cave Man Musicfest Labor Day weekend.  There is incredible camping and hiking along with a great restaurant off the lake.  North Lake is known for ice fishing, fly fishing and lure with a wildlife refuge featuring kayaking, canoeing and tubing with magnificient mountain views.  Both of these lakes provide a unique opportunity to fish “trout only” lakes on the east side of the divide.
