In the shadow of the Spanish Peaks just south of La Veta CO rests the Doubloon Ranch. The ranch boasts an unparalleled setting with the famous dike walls of the Spanish Peaks carving their way through the landscape. The upper end of the ranch is an alpine paradise where it crests at 9400' adjoining National Forest and the Spanish Peaks Wilderness area where bear, turkey, elk and deer are abundant. Aspen lined meadows and towering pines accompanied by several deeded springs creates a wildlife haven. The lower end of the ranch has several canyons and ridges covered in gambles oak and ponderosa pines. The hunting here is exceptional due to the amount of water and varied terrain along with the abundance of tags available in GMU 85 an OC unit. Access is fantastic, being at the end of County road maintenance giving the ranch ''end of the road'' privacy.
